Writings from staff and congregants to encourage you in your every life.

At the end of the year, many people look back on the past twelve months and try to come up with things that they would like to change to make the upcoming days, weeks, and months the best yet.
Everyone wants to have a good year.
Everyone wants a memorable year.
What if this is possible because of your immense and growing faith in Jesus?
Now, you may feel comfortable where you are in your walk with Christ, but here’s some news for you: No one is where they should be.
As Christians, we should be striving to have a perfect character like Christ. That sounds impossible, right?
That’s exactly why no Christian has yet arrived at their final destination towards righteousness and Christlikeness. The main idea here is that we can only be righteous because of Jesus.
No one is perfect—we call this universal imperfection. But let’s assess where you are in a few different aspects so that you can strive to be more like Jesus. Rate yourself on a scale from 1-10 in the following categories from the past year:
One does not show spiritual maturity through how righteous they feel, but rather how unrighteous they know they are before Jesus and the growth that needs to take place. Do your numbers reflect truth in your walk with Christ? Do you feel unrighteous and in need of Jesus after logging these numbers? If so, you’re right where you should be.
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” --1 John 1:8–9
You might be thinking, “Okay, I get it. I am unrighteous. But, where do I go from here?” Glad you asked! That's where step two comes in.
