Summer Scripture Contest
Our Summer Scripture Contest between the Men and the Women is underway (all ages can participate). Are you are keeping track of your scripture reading, memorizing verses, sharing the Gospel and inviting people to church?
Take a card from the bulletin table and keep track of your points each week. Turn your points in either by filling out the card (also attached) or by emailing [email protected] with your final tally of points.
Here is a more in depth explanation of each line:
Verses Read - Keep track of your Bible reading throughout the week.
Verses listened to - I know some people like to listen to the Bible rather than reading it. When listening, please give your undivided attention to what you are listening to. (Ex: In the car is fine, while talking on your phone is not )
New verses memorized - This is for new verses you have memorized with the reference. Learn a new verse and find someone on Sunday (or during the week over the phone/in person) and share your newly learned verse.
Old verses recited - I know so many of you have verses memorized already. Find someone to recite them to with the reference and ... please count these verses only once.
Gospel conversations - This is any spiritual conversation you have where you are attempting to share the Gospel with someone whom you know is an unbeliever or someone you don't know.
People brought to church - Invite your friends and family to church! Each person cannot have attended before and you can only count the first time they visit.
We will tally the points each week and have a slide on the announcements that shows the progress between the men and women. Men's Ministry Leader, Pastor Brandon, and Women's Ministry Leader, Lilly Saucier (Pastor Brandon's mom), have a friendly competition going. The wager has not yet been decided, but we will let you know soon what is on the line for them and between the men and the women. Let the games begin!
