What are you ashamed of?
Do you feel uncomfortable talking about your faith? Do you feel uncomfortable praying in public? Are you afraid to be known as a “crazy Christian?”
Philippians 1:20-21 says this:
“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Are you afraid to offend someone by being too persistent about your faith? The ONLY thing we should be offensive about is Jesus Christ. We should not be offensive by way of our finances, our ideas, our social medias, our actions, or anything else. In light of this, Paul tells us to honor God with our bodies! We must not drink, smoke, or have sex outside of marriage because if we are followers of Jesus, our bodies are not our own. They were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20) Our bodies are the temple for the Holy Spirit; the place where where he dwells. We must glorify God with our eyes, mouth, and brains. We also must glorify Him with our heart and soul. All should be done for the glory of God. Why? Because if we are followers of Jesus, we need to live our lives worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:27). After all, what we do now will echo for an eternity.
